Common faults in cone crusher use

2025-03-13 Visits:

Cone crusher is the core equipment of mining crushing system. It is easy to have five typical faults in continuous operation. Timely identification and treatment can ensure the efficient operation of equipment.

‌Abnormal vibration‌ is the most intuitive warning signal. Loose foundation bolts, excessive wear of moving cone lining or overload of crushing chamber will cause severe vibration. It is necessary to stop the machine immediately to check the status of fasteners and wearing parts.

‌Abnormal oil temperature‌ usually exposes lubrication system problems. Oil pump failure, cooler blockage or oil contamination will cause the return oil temperature to exceed 55℃. It is necessary to clean the cooling system and replace the hydraulic oil that meets the standards.

‌Uneven discharge particle size‌ reflects the wear and balance of lining. When the gap between the moving cone and the fixed cone lining exceeds the design value by 15%, or the positioning of the material distribution plate is offset, the lining needs to be replaced synchronously and the equipment parameters need to be calibrated.

‌Abnormal sound‌ hides the crisis of crushing chamber. Metal foreign matter stuck, spindle copper sleeve wear or poor gear meshing will produce metal collision sound. Foreign matter must be cleaned up in time and the transmission system must be checked.

‌Sudden shutdown‌ is mostly caused by the triggering of protection mechanism. Current overload, hydraulic locking failure or control system failure will cut off the operation of the equipment, and the circuit stability and hydraulic cylinder pressure value need to be checked.

In daily maintenance, weekly inspection of liner wear, monthly detection of lubricant metal content, and quarterly calibration of hydraulic system pressure can reduce the failure rate by 60%. Mastering these failure characteristics and response logic can maximize the guarantee of continuous and stable operation of the equipment.
