The main differences between PYD cone crushers and PYZ cone crushers

2025-11-03 Visits:

Both the PYD and PYZ cone crushers belong to the spring cone crusher series, but their design positioning and performance differ significantly, mainly in the crushing chamber structure and application scenarios:

Crushing Chamber Type and Particle Size Control: The PYD uses a short-head crushing chamber with a compact structure and a small distance between the moving and fixed cones. Through multi-layer extrusion, it achieves ultra-fine crushing, with the output particle size controllable within the range of 3-15 mm, suitable for processing materials with extremely high fineness requirements. The PYZ, on the other hand, adopts a medium-sized chamber design with moderate depth, and the output particle size is concentrated between 5-25 mm, emphasizing a balance between medium and fine crushing. Both can adapt to different needs by adjusting the eccentricity, but the PYD's chamber optimization is closer to the ideal curve, resulting in higher crushing efficiency.

Application Scenarios and Processing Capacity: The PYD is specifically designed for fine crushing processes, suitable for processing high-hardness ores (such as granite and quartz) and chemical raw materials, meeting the energy-saving requirements of "more crushing, less grinding," with lower unit power consumption. PYZ is widely used in medium and fine crushing applications, such as cement raw material crushing in the building materials industry. It has a strong processing capacity but a wider particle size distribution. For example, PYD1200 has a production capacity of 18-105 tons/hour for 3-15 mm particle sizes, while PYZ1200 has a production capacity of 42-135 tons/hour for 5-20 mm particle sizes.

Structural Characteristics and Maintenance: PYD's short-head cavity structure is more complex, resulting in higher maintenance costs, but its wear-resistant liners have a longer lifespan, making it suitable for continuous high-intensity operations. PYZ has a relatively simpler structure, offering better maintenance convenience, and is especially suitable for small to medium-sized production lines. Both are equipped with spring overload protection systems, but PYD is more adaptable to material moisture content.

In summary, PYD excels in ultra-fine crushing, while PYZ wins in terms of balanced performance. The selection should be based on a comprehensive consideration of material hardness and finished product particle size requirements.
