How to choose a magnesium ore crusher with a capacity of 90 tons per hour?

2026-01-09 Visits:

When constructing a magnesium ore crushing production line with a processing capacity of 90 tons per hour (90 tph), the rational selection of crushing equipment is crucial for ensuring efficiency, controlling costs, and extending equipment life. Magnesium ore typically has a medium hardness (Mohs hardness 5–6), but some ores may contain siliceous impurities, making them somewhat abrasive. Therefore, equipment selection requires comprehensive consideration of material characteristics, process flow, and equipment performance.

First, the appropriate machine type should be selected based on the crushing stage. For the primary crushing stage, a jaw crusher is recommended, such as the PE-750×1060 or a similar model.  Its large feed size and reliable structure can effectively crush the raw ore to below 150mm. If the raw material particle size is smaller and more uniform, a heavy-duty hammer crusher can also be considered to simplify the process.

Secondly, for the secondary and tertiary crushing stages, a cone crusher is the ideal choice. Single-cylinder or multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crushers (such as the HP300 or similar specifications) offer advantages such as a high crushing ratio, good product particle shape, and long wear part life, making them very suitable for processing abrasive magnesium ore and reliably meeting the 90 tph capacity requirement.

In addition, attention should be paid to equipment matching and automation levels. It is recommended to configure a vibrating feeder for uniform feeding, install a magnetic separator to prevent metal foreign objects from damaging the equipment, and use a PLC control system to improve operational stability. A dust removal system is also essential to meet environmental requirements.

Finally, prioritize manufacturers with experience in mining projects and comprehensive after-sales service to ensure proper equipment commissioning, spare parts supply, and technical support.

In summary, a 90 tph magnesium ore crushing line should primarily utilize a "jaw crusher + cone crusher" configuration, balancing efficiency, durability, and environmental protection to achieve long-term economic and efficient operation.
