What are the vulnerable parts of a cone crusher, and how should it be maintained?

2026-03-11 Visits:

Cone crushers play a crucial role in mining crushing operations. Their main wear parts include the mantle, crushing wall, eccentric sleeve, main shaft bushing, thrust plate, and seals. Among these, the mantle and crushing wall, in direct contact with the ore, endure immense extrusion and grinding forces, resulting in the most rapid wear. The eccentric sleeve and main shaft bushing, due to prolonged high-speed relative motion, are prone to wear or burning. Aging seals can lead to lubricant leakage or dust ingress, causing more serious internal damage.

Maintenance should focus on "wear prevention, lubrication, and tightening." First, the wear of the crushing chamber liner should be checked regularly. When the wear reaches its limit, it must be replaced promptly to prevent damage to the machine. Second, lubrication is paramount. Ensure the lubrication lines are unobstructed, the oil is clean, and the oil temperature and pressure are within normal ranges. Change the lubricating oil according to the prescribed schedule to prevent bearing burnout due to poor lubrication. Simultaneously, closely monitor equipment vibration and noise during operation. If any abnormalities are detected, immediately stop the machine for inspection and tighten any loose anchor bolts and connectors.

Furthermore, uniform feeding is crucial; uncrushable objects such as iron blocks should be prevented from entering the cavity to avoid overload accidents. During daily operation, non-load start-up is strictly prohibited, and the material in the cavity must be emptied before shutdown. Establishing a comprehensive inspection record system, tracking and predicting the lifespan of vulnerable parts, and implementing preventative maintenance are essential to extending the overall service life of the equipment and ensuring efficient and stable production.
