In the gravel production line, the belt conveyor undertakes the core task of aggregate transportation, and the rationality of its selection directly affects the production efficiency and operating costs. The following parameters need to be evaluated:
1. Material characteristic parameters
Physical properties
The density of crushed stone (usually 1.6-2.5t/m³) determines the bearing strength. High density requires strengthening the belt tensile layer (such as wire rope core)
Particle size distribution affects the selection of bandwidth: >100mm blocky crushed stone requires a bandwidth of ≥800mm to prevent material from spilling at the edge
Highly abrasive crushed stone requires an 8-12mm thick wear-resistant rubber cover to reduce the wear rate
Environmental adaptability
UV-resistant belts are required for open-air operations, and drainage grooves are added in rainy areas
When dust control requirements are high, closed racks + dry fog dust suppression systems are recommended

2. Conveying system parameters
Basic parameters
The conveying capacity is designed according to the peak value of 120%, and the typical crushed stone line requires a capacity of ≥200t/h
When the inclination is >15°, a patterned belt or a side guard needs to be used to prevent material from sliding
Structural design
The drum diameter is ≥1.5 times the bandwidth (such as a 1000mm bandwidth with a φ1500mm drum)
The spacing between heavy-load rollers is ≤1m, and the spacing between unloaded sections can be relaxed to 1.5m
3. Power and safety configuration
Drive system
The motor power is calculated according to the formula P=(Q×L×K)/367η (Q is the conveying volume t/h, L is the horizontal projection length m, K=1.2-1.5 correction factor)
It is recommended to equip the inverter + hydraulic coupling for frequent start-stop conditions to reduce the start-up impact
Safety protection
Required anti-deviation switch (spacing ≤30m), longitudinal tear sensor
The safety factor of the conveyor belt is 7-9, and steel cord belt is preferred when containing sharp gravel
